While copying CDs common activities for many programs, even many experienced computer users do not know how to break DVD.Things not so easy when it comes to copy a DVD, however. First, the DVD Video format is more complex. Copying a DVD-ROM drive is not about piracy – you might just want to make a backup. Because while the DVD-ROM drive is physically robust and durable, they are not suitable for a small child with a jar of peanut butter. DVD playback is the same over and over again not to damage it, but the drive can raise dust and scratches moment, as you take it in and out of the case. Enough of them can make DVD playback to jump, or more frequently to stop altogether. Finally, if you play a DVD on your laptop on the plane trip, you run down the battery faster because you are applying as a DVD and hard drives

But to convert video to DVD to AVI, DivX, or other alternative file format, and you can see it in much more places. You can store files on a server or NAS device and watch them on any computer in the house without having to eject from the other room (and not being limited to a PC, which DVD-ROM drive.) You can also take a few DVD-ROM drive with you without lug around extra weight and volume.

However, it should be noted that DVD copying into another format reduces the video quality even with the best DVD Ripper. You can not expect the same detail or resolution, and you usually lose the DVD features and additional content. But on a small screen, or in situations where you could not even use a portable player DVD, you can feel the tradeoff is worth.
