Privacy and control or IPC can be defined as monitoring, encryption, filtering and blocking of confidential information contained in the data, stored data in motion and data in use.

According to the report, the highest priority solutions in the field of information protection and control (IPC) was the prevention of data leakage (DLP), which is currently deployed on the perimeter of the organization and the target computers.

The growing importance of preventing data leakage (DPL)

There are many reasons for the growing importance of preventing leakage of data to a level that it has been at the forefront of any enterprise security. Some reasons are listed below:

NAS RAID

Posted on August 2nd, 2010 in Computers & Technology | No Comments »

NAS RAID is an acronym for Network Attached Storage device that uses a redundant array of independent disks, to protect you from data loss in the individual hard drive in the device that NAS dies.

Notice that I said “when” hard drive dies, but not “if.” Hard drives, like light bulbs, they can last an hour or a million hours. The problem is that you never know when it fails, but in the end, they all do.

It is common for all of us to try to buy a product that costs less than just money. Unfortunately, compared to low-cost storage device, which does not implement NAS RAID 1, which makes like comparing apples, well, asparagus.

Consolidating data from multiple computers on a network storage device has many advantages, including the ability to easily backup data.

But just because it is easier to make a backup does not mean that it would be. Yes, a good NAS device will be able to automatic backup online backup service, but that’s a topic for another article.

Even if you and your data is backed up, if that hard drive dies in a storage device, two things will happen:

1.) All data are added or changed since the last backup is lost.
2.) Network Storage, and your data is stored there, are not available until you get to the hard disk is replaced, your NAS reconfigured and running, and your data is restored. But recovery can take several days depending on where the data backup and quantity of data.

You can see how buying a storage device without NAS RAID can be dangerous to your data and access to it when you need it?

Even then, there are different levels of RAID protection, which can be used on any network server storage. RAID levels 0, 1 and 5 are commonly called.

It is important to understand that RAID 0 does not protect your data. I like they would not even call it a different RAID people astray and cause data loss as a result.

RAID 0 combines multiple disks to form a larger, faster access to data volume, but it has no reservations about it, so I prefer not to call it RAID. If you lose one disk in a RAID 0 array, you will lose data.
